“Did you see that Awning?”
Awnings and canopies are becoming such a staple when decorating the exterior of your business’ brick and mortar store. Awnings can be a stand alone sign or an added compliment for your primary signage. Both are equally important when trying to compliment your brand identity. Primarily awnings can be made with fabric of back-lit vinyl called exotic. These are the most commonly seen materials used to fabricate your stores awnings. When using fabric on your awning, it’s typically okay to paint your signage on the face of the awning. In this case the best brand to use is “one-shot.” One shot paint is a sign makers nightmare because it sticks to everything and doesn’t come off with just soap and water. It also happens to take 24-30 hours to fully dry under normal circumstances.
Going the other route and using exotic back-lit vinyl material for your awning is easier to assemble and should warrant a cheaper price for you. Here you will be able to adhere full digital graphics and colored vinyl to the awning all while possibly adding light to the awning to illuminate these graphics internally.
All in all, when making your awning purchase, be sure to ask questions to your sign maker in order to get the best look for your business’ brand.
